Definition of Classification:

The Marketing and Communications Specialist plays a key role in supporting and executing strategic initiatives that elevate the university鈥檚 brand, programs, and community engagement s. This position, based in the Burbank/LA campus, is responsible for creating and managing content across various platforms, with special focus on social media, that helps to strengthen the university鈥檚 position in Los Angeles specifically and California broadly as a leading institution of higher education.

Using omnichannel efforts, the Specialist will develop content that feeds key platforms, including but not limited to social media; the university website; blogs, newsletters and communications memos; and print materials. Under oversight from the President鈥檚 Office, the Specialist will support the institution鈥檚 key strategic initiatives by communicating them through internal memos and announcements.

By leveraging storytelling and a deep audience understanding, the Specialist will engage diverse audiences including prospective students, alumni, faculty, parents, donors, and other key stakeholders.

This position may require flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as well as the ability to travel, as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Social Media Strategy & Management (40 %)

  • Develop and execute campus-wide social media strategy across multiple platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook) aligned with recruitment objectives, institutional branding, and audience engagement goals.
  • Curate, schedule, and publish high-impact content that supports strategic initiatives such as student recruitment, academic program promotion, community engagement, events, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Monitor social media conversations and trends to identify opportunities for proactive engagement, responding to comments, messages, and mentions in real time to foster positive relationships and a strong online community.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Admissions, Alumni Relations, Events, Development, and academic departments) to identify opportunities for social media promotion. Stay informed of emerging social media trends, tools, and best practices in the higher education sector, proactively testing new platforms, formats, and content strategies to engage our diverse audience.
  • Oversee student workers and provide them with mentorship, guidance, and direction to create high-quality content for university channels.
  • Support social media efforts for the academic units and their accounts.

Content Creation & Storytelling (35 %)

  • Develop clear, compelling, and on-brand written content for a variety of channels, including the university website, blogs, newsletters, email campaigns, recruitment materials, and social media posts, all aimed at attracting and retaining prospective
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, students, and alumni to gather authentic stories that showcase the university鈥檚 distinctive programs, academic excellence, student success, faculty expertise, and vibrant campus culture.
  • Ensure all content aligns with the university鈥檚 brand voice, tone, and strategic priorities, maintaining a cohesive narrative across all marketing materials and platforms.
  • Contribute to the development of strategic content calendars, working with key stakeholders to ensure that messaging is timely, relevant, and aligned with recruitment cycles, academic calendars, and key institutional milestones.

Communications (25%)

Under the direction of the Senior Director for Strategic Communications,

  • Write and edit internal and external messages, emails, and other content as assigned.
  • Support media relations initiatives, such as writing press releases, media advisories, and supporting story materials for media stories
  • Assist in the development of crisis communications materials for pertinent events.

Uphold best practices and ensure consistency within all communications and with brand standards.

Qualification Guidelines

Any combination equivalent to, but not limited to, the following:

Experience/Training/Education:

Required

  • 2-3 years of experience in social media management and content creation
  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or related field .
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in an engaging and accessible way.
  • Proficiency with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook)
  • Well-versed in the principles and practices of AP composition and style, including an understanding of the usage of format and style as it relates to a variety of publication needs.

Preferred

  • Proven experience in higher education marketing, communications, or recruitment campaigns, with a focus on content strategy and audience

Definition of Classification:

Reporting to the Executive Director of Development & Alumni Engagement, 黑料社区 Campus, the Associate Director will be responsible for engaging, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding alumni and friends supporting University of Redlands programs at the University of 黑料社区 campus.

The Associate Director will assist in the design and lead the execution of an annual fund program including direct mail, digital campaigns, giving days, and affinity fundraising. The Associate Director will also assist in the planning and implementation of a robust alumni engagement program, including alumni councils and Dean鈥檚 advisory committees. In fulfilling these responsibilities, the Associate Director will work closely with the Executive Director of Annual Giving & Alumni Engagement and the AG/AE staff on the Redlands campus to maximize the resources of the University Advancement program. This position requires flexibility to work evening and weekend hours as well as the ability to travel, as required.

The successful candidate will be an energetic communicator, great listener, relationship builder, strong writer, and well-organized team player dedicated to our fundraising goals to support the University of Redlands. The candidate will have the ability to interact with a culturally and ethnically diverse population of students, alumni, faculty, and staff; has a sharp attention to detail and sound independent judgment; the ability to take direction while maintaining an entrepreneurial spirit. They must possess the ability to manage complex tasks and meet deadlines. Direct experience in soliciting, negotiating, and closing leadership gifts, campaign experience, and an understanding of fundraising ethics and best practices is preferred. Must have the ability to initiate and maintain strong working relationships with both professional and volunteer leadership of the University.

鈥 Work closely with the Executive Director of Development & Alumni Relations 鈥 黑料社区 and the Director of Prosect Research on the Redlands campus to identify and prioritize prospective donors for cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, tracking their progress through the giving cycle.

鈥 Assist in growing the donor pipeline by regularly reaching out to new potential prospects to discern their interest in the University and qualify their inclination to support the University philanthropically.

鈥 Plan, market, coordinate, attend, and execute alumni reunions and gatherings both on and off campus.

鈥 In conjunction with the Executive Director of Annual Giving & Alumni Engagement on the Redlands campus, prepare and distribute alumni communications and marketing materials (email, electronic newsletters, social media, and print materials).

鈥 Recruit, facilitate and support alumni councils and Dean鈥檚 advisory committees at the 黑料社区 campus.

鈥 Use Slate for Advancement to update alumni and donor records, enter contact reports, build out email communications, and create event registrations.

鈥 Assist with campus events, conferences, film contracts, and other external client support as assigned.

Definition of Classification:

The Associate Director of E-Sports will be responsible for recruiting and coaching the E-Sports team at the University of Redlands – 黑料社区 Campus. This role involves developing game-winning meta strategies, analyzing competitive landscapes, fostering strong internal communication, boosting player morale, mentoring athletes, and leading the team to success in tournaments.

Reporting to the Director of E-Sports, with a dotted line to the Associate Dean of Students at the 黑料社区 Campus, this position will involve significant collaboration with student-athletes, Admissions, Financial Aid staff, administration, faculty, community partners, and representatives from other colleges and universities.

This role requires flexibility, including the availability of working evenings and weekends, as well as the ability to travel for competitions and recruitment activities as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Works closely with the Director of E-Sports to manage and expand the collegiate E-Sports team at the University of Redlands, 黑料社区 Campus.
  • Develop and implement an outreach plan to recruit potential athletes in coordination with Admissions and Student Financial Services.
  • Leads training, practice sessions, and competitions, providing high-quality coaching and instruction for the E-Sports team.
  • Supports the physical, emotional, and social well-being of student-athletes while monitoring their academic progress and persistence.
  • Oversee the organization of team travel, competition schedules, and practice plans, including off-season activities.
  • Plans, organizes, and manages camps, and promotional events to boost program visibility and engagement.
  • Ensures adherence to all league, conference, and university rules and regulations, maintaining alignment with institutional values and mission.
  • Fosters engagement across the University community by creating opportunities for gaming involvement, collaborating with academic programs, clubs, and student groups.
  • Prepares game strategies based on scouting reports and analysis. Attends relevant meetings, clinics, and workshops for continuous learning.
  • Monitors the academic progress of student-athletes, collaborating with campus partners for a comprehensive approach to their development.
  • Maintains clear, effective communication with student athletes, families, and other stakeholders, while respecting confidentiality boundaries.
  • Supervises, plans, directs, and assigns work of assigned staff; makes hiring and disciplinary decisions; provides feedback on performance and approve timesheets.

  • Bachelor鈥檚 degree in computer science, Sports Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Two (2) years of successful coaching experience, preferably at the collegiate level.

  • Head coaching experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with multiplayer online video games, particularly those with team-based elements.
